We look for the answers to
the meaning of life --- Between our everyday toil and strife.
Philosophers expound for
us complex explanations --- But few of us have time for such deep
contemplation's.
Life's a test (to see if
we're fit) according to theology --- God's great game, executed and played
through biology.
In business it is the
profit and the gain --- With little regard for so many people in pain.
Government tells us the
meaning is in our democracy --- But our elected officials are most often a hypocrisy.
Society proclaims the
meaning in our career, or in our wealth, --- But these things often deplete
one's good mental health.
Could the meaning be in a
house? A pool? A boat? A car? --- What are these things in the light of our bright
star?
Where do we look if we
cannot find the answers there? --- How can we Hope? How can we prevent despair?
True joy is found in a
kiss, or an embrace; --- Not in the pits of the daily rat race!
Peace is experienced when
we do for someone well; --- Not in a chair that is held by a TV's Spell.
Fulfillment comes when we
are happy with who we are; --- Not in wearing another's brand, or in carrying
their scar.
Wholeness is knowing we've
made the world a little better place; --- Not in creating more garbage to take
up space.
It's learning! It's
caring! It's Giving! This is to "Be"! --- To miss these things is
life's greatest tragedy.
The meaning of life can be
found when sought above, --- God simply wants us to
share in love.
